Dream Home with sleek, elegant design elements
Designer: Orsolya Makszin
Introduction
For me, the journey to the designer’s desk was a long one, although in some form, design has always been a part of my life. My mother has been working as an interior designer since I was very young, so the world of interior design was a defining factor in my upbringing. I often spent time at the furniture store where my mother worked back then, observing the design processes or attending contemporary interior exhibitions showcasing the work of various designers.
Currently, I specialize in creating visualizations based on the preliminary designs of interior designers, furniture studios, and contractors. I mastered the use of ARCHLine.XP through the visualization design course at the Interior Design School and continuously utilize the ever-expanding online educational materials to refine my work. In the future, I aim to obtain an interior design qualification to broaden my expertise and expand my professional activities accordingly.

Project Description:
The project involved designing the interior of a young couple’s newly built, modern-style family home with sleek, elegant, and trendy design elements. The key spaces focused on in the visualizations were the living room, dining area, kitchen, and bedroom. The primary request from the clients was to ensure high-quality materials and a refined, tasteful, and cohesive interior.
For the living room design, the clients prioritized highlighting the high ceiling, creating a feature wall, and incorporating diverse lighting solutions. These were achieved through hidden LED lighting running between the two floors, border lighting, a deep-hanging ceiling pendant, and a feature wall behind the TV covered with large ceramic tiles.
In designing the kitchen and dining area, we aimed for practical space utilization while reflecting the couple’s personal style and individual preferences. Several layout variations were considered, with the one presented here being my personal favorite. The elegant glass-fronted display cabinet with gold framing and the modern, streamlined layout align with the clients’ vision.
The upstairs suite includes a private bathroom and a walk-in closet, though only the bedroom was visualized. For this space, we adhered to the core design concept, largely shaped by the existing bed’s size and character. The additional furnishings and layout were adapted accordingly. The wallpaper on the walls continues onto the ceiling, and a soft carpet adds warmth to the floor. Various lighting options allow for flexible illumination based on different needs.
