Case studies

This design was created for the "Inspiring Showroom Kitchen" competition. The competition guidelines included several constraints regarding the expected demonstration kitchen. The range of kitchen appliances to be installed was specified (with special emphasis on the rainbow-colored refrigerator), as well as the fronts and countertops to be used, and the requirement that various sliding and rotating fittings be well demonstrated.

My concept was based on two main pillars. Firstly, to make the special refrigerator the focal point, with the rest of the furniture surrounding and highlighting it. Secondly, I focused on showcasing as many types of special fittings as possible in the demonstration kitchen. I wanted to show how easily a small breakfast counter could be conjured from a chest of drawers, or how a dining table hidden in a drawer could be pulled out in an instant, or how a countertop extension could be achieved. These are very practical for small apartments. It's often challenging to find solutions for multifunctional furniture that are easy to use and practical. The design was created using the ARCHLine.XP program. I also made a small animation. Although the ARCHLine.XP program does not yet allow for the animation of furniture movement, it can be achieved by stitching together a few quick renders.
