Find the time thieves and save time in everyday life

Time is worth more than gold. It is something that we can never get back and that we can never have enough of. Most people have probably tried to save time, but only to notice that the minutes still fly by. In order to really optimize and thereby save your time, it is important to locate what is taking it up.

Without perhaps thinking about it, there are activities and chores that take up more time than was intended. The mobile phone has become one of the worst time wasters. The idea was that you would check what time it was, but you ended up checking both email and social media. The shower is another time eater and the quick shower easily becomes long, especially on cold days.

To avoid the minutes running away unnecessarily quickly, it is important to pay attention. If you are going to take a quick shower, set an alarm and make sure not to shower too hot. Put your phone down when you know you have to do something else. Plan for when you will use the mobile, e.g. during lunches, in the evening or when you are sitting on the commuter train or bus.

At the same time, it is possible to optimize internet and mobile usage. Another common time killer is complicated logins. Instead of using codes and passwords, you can set up facial recognition or fingerprint reading – if your technology allows it. Casino players can choose to play at the casino without an account instead of the pages that require registration and login. Casinoguiden has listed all casinos with bankid login at  https://sverigescasinosajter.net/. To gain access to hundreds of slot machines and table games, each player verifies himself with his bankID. This not only saves time, but is also safer and makes deposits and withdrawals faster.

Save time with planning

Once you know what is taking up your time, you can start saving on it. To optimize everyday life, you can take a few minutes every evening to plan for tomorrow. Lay out clothes, prepare the coffee maker and pack the training bag. If you are a morning person who likes to get up early, but who also goes to sleep early, you can instead prepare for the evening.

It is often said that the kitchen is the heart of the home, but it can be a portal that sucks up time. Deciding what to eat is an eternal question. In order not to spend too much time staring at the refrigerator, and risk the goods starting to thaw, it is important to plan, advises. Make sure to buy items that you actually eat and don't buy new ingredients without planning for them. If you're short on time when you're cooking, you should invest in chopping small to reduce the cooking time. If you are going to eat a salad or food that does not need to be prepared, chop large to be able to start eating quickly. Also learn how to best store your ingredients. It will not only extend the shelf life but also reduce the need to shop.

By eliminating the time stealers and optimizing your tasks, you can save a lot of time. It is rarely difficult and only requires determination.

My name, who writes here, is Anders Gustafsson. Here we are talking about our time and our money. Broadly speaking, we can say that we are talking about how we control our lives in order to live freer and more interesting lives.

Look through the categories in the menu above and you will see what we are talking about in detail.

Feel free to read my free e-book that I wrote for you who want to live financially free for a shorter or longer period.

I have just turned 50 and have four children and a partner. We live in Sundbyberg since 2019. Before that we ran a small farm in Småland for a couple of years. At the time, we were active in the FIRE movement, preaching financial independence and early retirement. Now we are back in the squirrel wheel :)

This thing about jumping out of the squirrel wheel and saying no to boring everyday life has interested me since 2013. What probably makes this blog a bit unique is that I approached the question in so many ways. Not least, I have tried to understand and influence my role in the whole thing.

In terms of education, I am a civil engineer. I have been a PhD student, but never completed that course. Recently, I have also studied psychology at university level.

You can find my email address on the little email icon below. There you will also find the link to the blog's YouTube, which you are welcome to subscribe to.
